Special Fire & Ambulance Advisory Board Meeting

On Tuesday, November 26 a Fire and Ambulance Advisory Board Meeting was held at Cranston Heights Fire Company for the by purpose of a presentation by FACETS Consulting of a Report on the financial sustainability of the New Castle County Fire Service under current staffing conditions and funding formulas. Presidents and Chiefs of county fire companies were in attendance.
FACETS studied all 21 fire companies over the last year and their report concluded that at the current funding processes and funding levels are not sufficient to sustain an adequate level of fire and EMS services moving forward.
The fire service looks forward to following FACETS’ recommendation of working, in a cooperative and organized manner, with county and state governments to develop
a permanent, adequate funding system for fire and EMS services.
