Annual NCC Firefighters and Chiefs Association Installation Banquet

On Thursday, December 12th the Delaware City Fire Company hosted the Annual NCC Fire Service Installation Banquet.
After a delicious meal served by the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Delaware City and Christiana Fire Companies, NCCVFA President Mark Gott called the meeting back to order.
Incoming NCCVFA President Jim Watson then introduced the Master of Ceremonies, Past President Steve Austin. Past President Mike Rush was originally scheduled to be the Master of Ceremonies but became ill and could not make it.
President Gott delivered his final report and thanked his family and the Holloway Terrace Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary for their support as he went through the chairs.
NCCFCA President Josh Hawk delivered his final report and thanked his family and both the Cranston Heights and Christiana Fire Companies for their support while he went through the chairs.
President Gott and Past President Wally Poppe presented the Louis J. Amabili Memorial Firefighter of the Year Award to Past Chief Steve Kavanagh of the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Company.
President Gott also presented another Louis J. Amabili Memorial Firefighter of the Year Award to Chief Wally Poppe of the Delaware City Fire Company.
President Hawk and NCC Communications Assistant Chief Don Holden presented the Kenneth R. Greenfield Memorial Dispatcher of the Year Award to Telecommunicator III Richard Haas.
President Hawk and Assistant Chief Holden then presented the Edith “Bunny” Wilson Memorial Call Operator of the Year Award to Public Safety Operator III Lance Bernardo.
Rich Rodriquez of the Elsmere Fire Company presented the Annual Harold “Sonny” Wilkins Longevity Award to Deb Watson of the Delaware City Fire Company.
Installation of Officers of the County and Chiefs Associations was overseen by Past President Steve Austin.
The passing of the gavels was completed by both President Gott and President Hawk to incoming Presidents Jim Watson of the Delaware City Fire Company and Dwayne Pearson of the Belvedere Fire Company.
Presidents Gott and Hawk were presented a plaque and gift in recognition of the year as President by the Officers of their Associations.
Presidents Watson and Gott presented out going NCCVFA Treasurer John Smith with an award for his many years serving as Treasurer and one to the parents of our Special Olympics Delaware Ambassador Matt Montgomery, Sean and Eileen Montgomery with an award for their assistance in getting Matt to and from not only the Associations Meetings but to the Fire Stations he visits.
The 50-50 was won by NCCVFA Past President Jerry Brennan who donated back his winnings to both Assocations.
