32nd Annual Blue Knights Ride for the Salvation Army
Sunday, November 8, 2015

Each year for the last 32 years, the Delaware Blue Knights [Blue Knights Facebook Page] get together and ride to the Salvation Army in Wilmington.  Each rider pays a nominal fee and brings a gift.  It was a beautiful day Sunday which brought out over 400 bikes for this annual event.  It was kickstands up at noon and off to Wilmington.  Escorted by State, County, City and Municipal law enforcement motors with the addition of Wilmington PD cruisers and NCC Fire Police, the entorage ventured up Kirkwood highway through Elsmere and into the city.  Each and every participant hand delivered their toy into the Salvation Army facility.  Then, we left Wilmington out Pennsylvania Avenue, through Greenville to Campbell Rd, Centerville Rd then back to 21.  The Blue Knights have a host of sponsors all donating gifts and money to make this event the success it is each and every year.  They were able to purchase 47 bicycles and present over $3,000 to the Salvation Army.  It was inspiring to be part of this event once again this year. When you see a member of the Blue Knights, be sure to thank them for their continued dedication to the Salvation Army and all the good they do throughout the community.
