Remembering LANCCVFA Past President Peg Scarpitti

It is with sadness the LANCCVFA announces the passing of Alma "Peg" Scarpitti. She previously served as LANCCVFA Past President, LADVFA Past President and was a member of the Claymont Ladies Auxiliary Alma "Peg" Scarpitti died peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 93. A 45 year active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Claymont Fire Co. Peg served as Auxiliary President in 1970, 1972, 1973, and 1988. Peg served as President of New Castle County Volunteer Firefighters Association Ladies Auxiliary 1983-1984 and as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Delaware State Volunteer Firefighters 1993-1994. Preceded in death by her husband, Peter, Sr. (2004) her son, Ronald, Jr. (2006), her grandson Vincent Scarpitti (1978), and her brother George Eyre (2005), Peg is survived by her son Peter, Jr. and his wife, Peg, and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Scarpitti; 6 grandchildren Mark and Matthew Scarpitti, Michelle (Wayne) Sapp, Melissa Scarpitti, Ron Scarpitti, Jr. (Kim) and Charles Mistretta. A proud grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Peg is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, April 27 at 12 noon at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. A committal service was held at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery following the Mass. Contributions may be made to the Claymont Fire Co., 3223 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
