NCC Fire Service Installation Banquet

On Thursday, December 11th, the Delaware City Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary hosted the Annual NCC Fire Service Installation Banquet.  Chief Jamie Rosseel welcomed everyone to Delaware City and then a buffet dinner was served by the Ladies Auxiliary.

State Fire Marshal Grover ingle served as Master of Ceremonies and Installating Officer.  The following were installed as Officers of the New Castle County Volunteer Firefighters Association:

President - Wally Poppe - Delaware City

1st Vice President - Les Warrick - Cranston Heights

2nd Vice President - Keith Bowman - Five Points

Secreatary - Deb Watson - Delaware City

Assistant Secretary - Wayne Ferrante - Hockessin

Treasurer - John Smith - Elsmere

Trustee - Fran Cahoon - Mill Creek

Trustee - Frank Gant - Odessa

Trustee / Past President - Dan Burris - Volunteer Hose

The following were installed as Officers of the New Castle County Fire Chiefs Association:

President - Eric Haley - Claymont

1st Vice President - Dennis Godek - Elsmere

2nd Vice President  - Mark Willis - Holloway Terrace

Secretary - Charles Johnson - Five Points

Assistant Secretary - Claudia Wilms - Townsend

Treasurer - Mike Greico - Hockessin

Director - Chad Ingram - Wilmington Manor

Director / Past President - Andy Hall - Townsend

Final Reports and comments were given by President Burris, President Hall and Ambulance Association President Amy Yonko.

The Chiefs Association presented the Kenneth R. Greenfield Award to Police Supervisor Jayme Fisher.

Rich Rodriquez and his family preented the Harold "Sonny" Wilkins Award to Bill Fisher of the Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder.  Mr. Fischer was not present and the award was received by President Jon Townley and Chief Emeritus Ken Farrall.

During the meeting, donations were accepted for Tyler and Amber Bare of Millsboro who lost their home to a fire and $1000.00 was raised.  A check from the County Association has since been mailed to them.

The 50-50 was won by Chief Ed Hassell of Claymont who donated the winnings to the Bare Family.

Benediction was given by Reverend Wilms who asked that we keep in our prayers Dan Callaway of the Belvedere Fire Company who was seriously injured when he had stopped to help someone who needed help on Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania.
