Helping one of our Own - Susan G. Komen Three Day Walk - Claymont Fire Company
Friday, February 22, 2013
A group of friends associated with the Claymont Fire Company have banded together to help one of our own. Michelle Hassell, a forty year Life Active Member with the Claymont Fire Company, fiancee of Past Chief Mark Harris was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 days after retiring from Sun Oil after 36 years. The group of friends, Dawn Brooks, Patti Catalano, Cathy DiCristofaro and Monica Woods, who have formed the group "Breast Friends" have taken on the challenge in Michelle's name to travel to Washington, D.C. in October to participate in the Susan G. Komen Three Day Sixty Mile Walk. Chief Harris is also going to participate in this event. As President DiCristofaro has mentioned in the attached letter to the Friends of the Fire Service, in order to participate in the walk, each participant must raise $2,300 each to participate. With that said, below are the links to each of the participants in which you can send your tax deductible donation too: www.the3day.org/goto/patticatalano www.the3day.org/goto/cathydicristofaro www.the3day.org/goto/dawnbrooks www.the3day.org/goto/monicawoods www.the3day.org/goto/markharris As President DiCristofaro states, "Please consider making a donation, however small or large that it may be to this wonderful effort". On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Claymont Fire Company, Team Breast Friends, Michelle and Mark, they personally Thank You for your donation, support, care and compassion to this worthy cause.
