Odessa Fire Company Award Presentation at Legislative Hall - Dover, DE

On the steps of Legislative Hall today, with many Delaware Legislative Leaders and Delaware Fire Service Leaders in attendance, the Odessa Fire Company was acknowledged locally by the Representatives of Physio Control for their selection as one of the JEMS / Physio Control 2010 Top Ten 2010 Innovator of the year for EMS in recognition of their efforts in getting a Statewide Grant of $440,000 for Carbon Monoxide Detectors and Training for all Basic Life Support Units. The Odessa Fire Company was initially recognized at the JEMS Conference in Baltimore Maryland back on March 2, 2011 at the JEMS Conference. At the Congressional Fire Services Institutes 23rd Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on April 7, 2011, the CFSI and the MedicAlert Foundation recognized the Odessa Fire Company with the 1st Annual Award Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS for the Carbon Monoxide Detectors Grant. The Award was based upon those Fire Companies that have championed unique practices to enhance the quality of emergency medical care to their local communities. The Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards program honors fire departments in three categories - Volunteer, Combination and Career Fire Department. The New Castle County Volunteer Fire Service Congratulates the Odessa Fire Company on these much deserved Awards and Recognition.
