NCC Fire Service Installation Banquet - Five Points Fire Company

On Thursday, December 9, 2010 the New Castle County Fire Service Installation Banquet was held at the Fire Points Fire Company, Station 17. The New Castle County Volunteer Firefighters, Fire Chiefs and Ambulance Associations came together to install their 2011 Officers. Incoming County Association President Robert Sutton welcomed everyone to the Five Points Fire Company and introduced Reverend Wilms for the Invocation. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was DVFA Past President Warren Jones. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Five Points Fire Company provided a delicious meal. A rising applause of appreciation was given to the Ladies Auxiliary. Each of the Association out going Presidents, County President Richard Perillo of the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, Chiefs President Stephan Maichle of the Wilmington Manor Fire Company and Ambulance President Mat DeMarco of the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown gave their final reports. County Executive Paul Clark arrived and spoke to the audience and gave resolutions to each of the out going Presidents. County President Richard Perillo received the County Executive Award for his devotion for the past year. Richard Rodriguez of the Elsmere Fire Company and grandson of Harold “Sonny” Wilkins presented the Harold “Sonny” Wilkins Longevity Award to Jim Rosseel of the Delaware City Fire Company. Installation of Officers were conducted with Warren Jones installing President Robert Sutton of the Five Points Fire Company as County Association President, State Fire Prevention Commissioner David Roberts installing Joe Day of the Minquadale Fire Company as County Chiefs President and Past DSAA President Mike McMichael installing John Atkinson of the Delaware City Fire Company as County Ambulance President. Passing of the gavels were then conducted between the outgoing and incoming Presidents of each of the Associations. Congratulations to all new incoming Officers and a job well done to all outgoing Officers.
